Replace 1 150 with a 125 and you can chuck a small nos in place of the RL if its your thing Smile

A slight change to the standard set up, more for solo'ing other frigs and a cruiser or two, circumstance permitting of course.

Highs:
3x 150 II AC
1x Arbie RL

Mids:
1x Cold gas AB
1x 7.5Km J5 Scram
1x X5 Webb

Lows:
1x SAR II
1x 200mm RT Plate
1x Gyro II (I maybe using best named atm, not sure)

Ammo:
I carry 4000 Republic Fleet EMP
1000 Hail
1500 Barrage
2000 therm rockets
1000 EM rockets

The idea of this ship is that it can hold the ab constantly for the entire engagement meaning you are flying at about 800m/s at approx 1km. Which even for the bigger small guns makes it hard to track. The SAR II can be ran for a short amount of time, but the cap usually keeps up with a few pulses every now and again.
This is the standard fit all n00bs in my corp are given. The rocket launcher was placed there post NOS nerf as without it when not using the SAR II, youre cap is at least 80% + making it useless. So we added a little dps and so far it has proven usefull in most situations. I run therm as standard with EM on stand by.

Whilst when new i lost plenty of them i have now held splittersplatter XII for about 6-7 weeks.

Enjoy/ridicule

Swapping 1-2 ODs for a nano will net you even more speed with an MWD activated.

Swapping 1 OD for a nano will net you even more speed with an MWD activated.

Numbers with a fairly standard skillset* and all T1 unnamed:

3 ODs: 3879m/s
2 ODs, 1 nano: 3815m/s
1 OD, 2 nanos: 3555m/s

Now, when we're talking T2 ODs and nanos, the addition of one nano does add speed. But 1 OD, 2 nanos is always(?) slower than 3 ODs.

*Navigation 5, Acceleration Control 4, no implants.

1 OD, 2 nanos is faster in practice. More manueverability = tighter turns and faster orbit.

Fair enough, but given the average skills of a t1 frig pilot, I don't think the idea behind the setup is to orbit with the mwd on while holding the scram. Since it's a 7.5km scram, that's not going to be easy.

My Rifter

2x150mm/1x200mm AC2/Limos Rocket

MWD/20km/x5

400mm RT/MAPC/'Refuge' Adaptive Nano plating

Took out a Hound last night. I was actually trying to avoid him but ended up bumping into him in a belt at 20km. Hit MWD to approach and then orbit at 2500. I think he got two volleys off before he popped. I hit the mwd again when in orbit b4 the second volley hit. Second volley got me to 3/4 armour.

I thought i was a gonner after seeing the damage of the 1st volley but luckily Hound has no tank. He was using Caldari Faction Cruise Missiles too. Char was the same age as me. My best rifter kill. Wink

Love this little ship.

Posting an old set up of a friend's that some of you might remember...

1 "Roflcoptor"

3x 280 II w/ quake

1x X5 Web (needed for CPU)
1x Fleeting Web
1x Faint Warp Prohibitor

2x Gyro II
1x Co-pro II
Theoretically has a max volley of 719 every 6 secs.

The way he used it was as follows:
1 Wait at gate for an inty to engage the little 'ol rifter
2 Let him come within 10k thinking he could kite out (as most rifters just fit 1 web, which an inty can escape)
3 ???
4 Profit

Fleet setup-
3x 200s, Rocket Launcher (or 3x 250 arties if you're worried about smartbombs)
1mn mwd, Stasis Web, Warp Disruptor
3x CPRs

You do less damage and are slower than most other rifters, but for tackling in heavy lag being able to permamwd+hold point is really important.

I've noticed with older posts elsewhere a Nos in the fourth high slot was once quite popular for PvP Rifters. Is that no longer a worthwhile fitting in Rev?

I'm broadly following the New Minmatar Pilots Guide advice on skilling up, and it'll be a few weeks before I can put T2 guns on a Rifter. What I'm looking for mainly is something that can put up a decent fight and/or run successfully when I get jumped on while ratting in lo-sec asteroid belts.

I've been playing with the following low-skilled setup, since getting Electronics up to 4 earlier today so that it'd all fit.

3 x 125 prototype, Nos
MWD, Web, Scram
SAR, Gyro, 200 plate

Is that a reasonable sort of approach?
