While I'm not sure whether the mods will allow a thread like this...thought it would be interesting.
In this thread (if allowed to live), post any battle reports of low sec fights which would be GOOD to read. No blob fights..good fights.
Thought this thread would be useful after CI, Star Fraction, Cry Havoc, CONIN, POD-U, and Invicta killed TWO motherships in low sec...first engagement with MORE than one supercapital to die.

Doesn't show their losses...but they are NOTHING compared to the losses that Chaos Incarnate suffered.

Good idea, we don't tend to hear much about low sec and I know there are some bigger fights that do go on now and again. _________________

I can confirm the battle in question.
Two Chaos Incarnate mother ships were spotted sieging a Cosmic Anomalies POS in Alperena (Placid lowsec).
No, we're not blue to Cosmic, but mother ships are good eating. We hooked up with Star Fraction, Contraband Inc, and some folks from Prophets of a Damned Universe to try to get numbers up for breaking a dual MS tank. We figured there was a pretty solid chance that CI had the rest of their gang just waiting for the MS to clear POS mods and would escalate once tackled.
After what felt like far too long we finally got folks into position, chasing off another gang to clear the way and moving our heavy dictors up ahead of the group so as not to spook them with a huge jump in local. Right as our dictors move up, I get a convo from Invicta:
"Hey, are you guys doing what we were thinking of doing?"
Hahaha, yup. Swapped temp standings and invited them to come join us.
First couple HACtors touched down on the MS and promptly got their asses kicked while the rest of the gang came to join them.
It looked dodgy for a minute, then we managed to get some of the DPS off the HACtors and rotate them a bit. Bumping on the MS kept them from taking advantage of their brief periods of non-tackle and Invicta got a tackle on the second MS as well.
From there we started putting damage on the weaker tanked Nyx and neuted. Star Fraction asks permission to drop dreads, and with no hostile backup having shown yet, we give them the ok, so 3 Moros cyno in to join us.
From there things went downhill fast for the two MS pilots:

Invicta were sitting near villore in the hope that another mom would exit pos shields in a sekrit location. He eventually logged so nothing happened there.
We knew some moms were about and in the alparena vicinity and since we had LOTS of hics about we started heading that way. We saw Cry Havoc heading that way in numbers and they graciously set us blue since we clearly both had the same thing in mind.
We got the intel from Mistress and warped into the POS. The nyx was clearly tackled so Invicta sat on the aeon with our hics. Jericho Fraction jumped in some dreads and things went downhill for the moms very quickly from then on.
We had dreads on standby but temp standings have the potential for clusterfucks and it was clear the moms would die without their contribution so we didn't jump them in.
I hear there is a bit of to and fro over lewt ninjaing. I told mistress what we got and if Cry Havoc want it we are happy to give it to them since we were at best incidental to the nyx kill.
All in all it made our night after waiting for a few futile hours for the other mom to make a move, funny how this game can be sometimes.
Tyvm to Cry Havoc for the temp standings and hi to CONIN who were there too, Rich is chuffed he beat Sabadagus on the damage front |

CHOAS INCARNATE lost ties with SMASHKILL & CO about 3 weeks ago due to internal issues within chaos and among other things this kind of knee-jerk actions.
Good job on co-ordinating the take down to all involved parties. |

Yeah, unfortunately we didn't pull the loot either. That's the serious downside with huge mixed gangs, its really easy for ninja to occur. Just shows some people are hosers, since soiling a pretty darn cool set of kills with a bit of personal greed for internet pixels is just feeble.
Ah well, got two more mothership kills, and FINALLY a non-Nyx, so I'm still happy. |

I thought about asking the Mothership Pilots in local if they were going to vote for me on "enhanced combat dynamism" for the CSM. _________________

All credit to Cry Havoc for this operation and to all those who took part.
Very enjoyable battle.

Epic, Kin'Tarr from OSHIT BNCed on the killmails
It's going to be pretty hard to get good lowsec reports here, but I hope there'll be something interesting every now and then \o/ _________________

Saw a mention of two lo sec mum ganks in teamminmatar a couple of hours ago. Didn't realise the victims were very recent corp/alliance mates.
Poor souls. Krentia's only had it for like a month/month and a half, I think, but Ajax has used it heaps and has had a few brushes with fate in the past.
Nice job on the kill, fullas. We all love to see/hear about big shit getting blown to bits. Thought people realised by now that MS need a decent support fleet on stand by at all times. Guess not. _________________

| Old EHJ fanboy from SG checking in with congrats to the Einherjar guys, et al on those kills. Just as we were catching up on Mothership kills, bastards. I had fun being in alliance with Ajax and Krentia, but I guess this serves as the best lesson yet about what situations you shouldn't put your Motherships in. |
