| As the title says are the ISS short of liquid isk? in this post on eve-o http://myeve.eve-online.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=442860 serenity steele is now trying to flog iss shares in their new ipo with a minimum buy in of 100mil, a 50% reduction and the purchase had to be done by last night when as kay has already stated the mc, veto ect rolled in, so why the rush? giveing just 3 1/2 hours notice? the only reason i can think of is that they are short of liquid isk and couldn't afford the isk to pay the merc's? |

Could also be just to build up a buffer to use over the course of the war. Business is gonna be way down while there is conflict in the area, and it's not just the outposts near IACville that'll be hurting. You've gotta have resources to get anywhere in a war and they could just be covering their asses.
Also they could be trying to finalise the IPO before things get too unpredictable.
I'd do it too. |

could be but the fact that the deal had to be done by 11 pm with only 3 1/2 hours notice makes me feel that they needed the isk in a hurry? and does anyone know if useing the isk in this way if it is the case affects their so called charter? |

dude if you guys really think MC is actually getting paid for this you guys need to wake up lol. Remember the last iac contract when MC failed horribly to take the outposts then came up with that load of bs of how "The outposts wer just a bonus and the client disapeared" Really you guys give them too much credit if you think they are legit. _________________

| I agree the MC undoubtadly (sp) has a large finantial interest in the ISS that became obvious when the iss had a disbute with the cva and seleene jumped into the eve-o thread about it within half a dozen post's and imediateley started throwing threats around |

The sale of shares in ISS was only 'announced' on December 10th, but the fact that they were going to make an announcement about a new market initiative was announced well before IAC announced the standings change.
I'm trying to find the original post, but I seriously doubt ISS is short on liquid isk. _________________ Currently Piloting: Thiol - Madbombers of Ushra'Khan

| the sale was announced earlier but they suddenly reduced the minimum buy in amount from 200 mil to 100 mil and only for a three hour period last night with zero warning, this just happened to co incide with the mc & co rolling into action which does seem to make them look a little short of available isk. |

well they are engaging in a deathstar pos war now. Not only that but they have to keep fueling all the deathstars they have at every outpost across eve. It's really expensive. _________________

I'm very curious about their business plan, actually. Page 5 suggests that they're planning on going into capital ship production. Needless to say, previous "neutral" capital producers were not particularly well-recieved by the EVE community at large, and while a second generation is cropping up in the drone regions ISS making a concerted effort towards capital production could be seen in many different ways.
I'm also wondering if CCP intended the interaction between Sovereignty and the construction of a cap ship to work the way it does currently. |

iss is just trying to make use of the vast excess of capital waiting for investment opportunities, trying to rake it in before the iss ship is sinking.
the iss model is solely based around maintaining their neutrality through political claims and trying to maintain good standings with all the big players.
they have never been neutral towards small entities and it will only be a matter of time when their inept military arm will get wtfpwned and the whole cardhouse will crumble, with a very happy + rich count and serenity |
