With the low cost of C-Type MWDs why not use them as a best of both worlds scenario?

Low cost, are you serious? They're 90-100+ mil at moment. Sad

This.

I read that post and was all like Twisted Evil score!
and then I signed in and checked contracts and was all like
surely not the 1MN variety.....

faction frig mwds are cheap and well worth it

cruiser ones are also generally worth it depending on how much cpu/pg you can afford (core/gist), cap reduction modifier, and activation cost

BS are much more rare and thus are expensive

the only time i ever think a t2 MWD is clearly better than named MWD is on logistics. because you need the cap regen way more than you need the downside of higher activation cost

the balance is also skewed with MWD rigs, the one that increasses cycle time will make t2 better more than it makes named better

Some gallente ships (thinking of Thorax mainly) have a bonus on cap reduction of mwd. And T2 MWD gives you a cap boost. Named might also with Gallente Cruiser V... But anything that improves the cap on a blaster boat is nice.

As per above, named and t2 MWD are useful on logistics to get cap stable.

Recently I've also found them useful on geddons while trying to get cap stable for PoS bashing fits when theres no energy transfer around.

However for anything with cap booster I generally just go for t1.

If you haven't noticed yet Tyrannis massively increased the drop rate of named MWDs. Naturally this crashed prices into the fucking ground so unless you care deeply about the extra cap (-17% vs -19%) there's no real reason to use T2 (or T1) anymore.

This must be a huge hit to T2 MWD BPO owners, since they have almoust same stats as these named MWD's so they have to drop prices to compete with them.

Best named for things you plan on mwding with (99% of pvp tbh)

T2 for things you plan on not mwding with unless it's an emergency (so some of pve, e.g. gtfo ability on a cruise raven in missions or 0.0). Although, being able to run your tank a bit better while GingTFO is arguably a good thing too.
